Not able to use Candy Crush gift card

I am having trouble using my Candy Crush gift card. I play using Facebook on my phone and when I go to put in my password and email it doesn't work. I have requested a new password but that doesn't work because it wants to start me back at level one. I don't want to start over since I am on level 8 thousand something. How do I fix this ?
