I was number 1 yesterday in the running for the 250 gold bars. Today when I logged in, I won the number one spot but I only got 3 prizes lol!! No 250 gold bars. I spent so much time getting to number 1. False advertising!!!

I agree. It needs to be clearer when someone has already answered the question. I can't see that on the main screen. All these changes take some getting used to.
Hi there. I'm afraid those were only the qualifiers! I am surprised you didn't notice that, it was quite clear in the info I think. You only needed to get into the first half to move on to the next round, so yes it was a waste of your time to get to number one. There are three more rounds and they will get much, much harder to win (because only the best players are left to compete in the finals).

The tournament consists of four rounds. To win 250 gold, you will have to reach the fourth round (the Final) and win it. The prizes awarded in rounds 1-3 are just boosters.
