Yes, sorry that this happened to you and that you wasted gold for no good purpose. I guess there are so many players coming to these levels now who don't have any experience with magic mixers any more. In the old days there used to be lots of levels where we had to for example allow chocolate to grow and magic mixers to spawn before destroying them. We were taught to check the boards before playing and had to use our brains and think before making decisions in the game.
Unfortunately the new Candy Crush encourages players to play quickly and without thinking: New players are taught to just bash the boards with double colour bomb combos until all the blockers are removed and some of these older but more intelligent levels still hold them up.
Whilst I see your point that the game should not allow players to pay gold for more moves in such a situation I am afraid that the only practical way for this to happen would be to remove all of these kind of levels from the game. Rest assured, the AI is working on it and before long all the remaining fun and intelligent older levels (lovingly written by humans) will have been removed and all 20,000 levels of the game will soon be reduced to boring and repetitive "bash the hell out of the blockers" levels.

i am too. Even used bars for more moves! What a mistake! So pissed that it letr you add moves when there is no way to get thru those blocks when that special candy wrapper gets wiped out! So frustrating

Those blocks cannot be broken by hitting them with special candies or combos. These are the order locks, and to open them, you must collect what is depicted on them. The number on them indicates the number of items that need to be collected.
The first set of locks requires you to collect sugar coats (the pink coatings that cover the candies). They are produced by the magic mixer in the center of the board. Upon collecting enough sugar coats, some of the locks at the bottom will open and reveal frosting. By collecting that frosting, you will be able to open the locks on the sides. Finally, removing the frosting on the sides will open the last locks at the bottom.

how do we break thru the blocks? Normal methods of striped and wrapped candies don’t seem to work. Everything seems random when they do get broken. 😡
