When I watch an ad, go get extra moves or jellies, I keep getting ads I can’t close once they are finished. Examples are Google Gemini and Vinted, the ad plays and there is no option to close. So I have to quit out the game and lose my progress.

Hello, welcome to the community. Sorry it sounds more like a glitch you should probably contact support for help or maybe try restarting your phone or close the app and restart it afresh
