This community needs sorting out: It is not functional for its purpose

Nothing works in this community and I'm sick of it.

I am sorry @QueenB . This place is not working. Hardly anyone new to the community posts here, and if they do they end up in the most inaccessible place. Like the one new post in this thread.

If you click on that thread there is a newbie stuck in there somewhere. Someone who typed in "free gifts" into the search field I suspect.

The search option is still guiding people to antiquated threads.

People get lost in this place.

Some threads do not show the latest posts as default, still. Even if I have "newest" enabled when I click on this thread I see an older page. This is so off putting and will not encourage people to add their own comments:

We have heard from @Charleyfarley that they cannot even post a new discussion. Is this happening to others here? It is unlikely to be an isolated case.

The "Help & Tips" section is hidden away in a tiny space at the bottom of Support and nobody can find the posts in there. Anyway is completely antiquated and unnecessary now that levels are so uniform. People are posting in it with all manner of questions. I suggest that section is removed and integrated into the general Support Forum.

And what is that list of "Top contributors" that shows up on the right? Who are these people? I click on them and their profile shows 0 posts and 0 comments.

And something else:

When I click on the "share Feedback" option at the top of the screen and then choose "Candy Crush Saga" it sends me to the Ideas section. I'm clearly not the only getting lost there: There are a few lost posts hidden in Ideas as well. Ideas is not the right place for feedback.

Active members are showing at the top and others further down because they are in the counting games and playing in your wish is granted. They are not discussing the game or helping others. So the community site can be filled with stuff like this, why, what is the reason, would really like to know please.

And is there a trishbanda showing 4th down?

Thank you for sharing all of this so openly. We’re really hearing the frustration in your messages, and I didn’t want to let the week end without giving you an update. We’re not going to be able to fix everything over the weekend, but based on your feedback we already know what we need to focus on and we’ve gotten started.

A couple of things have already been fixed since you first raised this:

• The “Help” tab on mobile now shows up as “Unanswered Questions,” so it’s easier to see where people need support

• The Top Contributors list has been cleaned up so it actually shows active members instead of old inflated scores

And here are a few things we’re continuing to look at:

• Threads showing as “new” even after you’ve opened them
• The way search sometimes brings you into very old threads
• Making navigation clearer and less confusing, especially on mobile
• The “Share Feedback” wording, since we know it’s sending people to Ideas and that doesn’t make much sense the way it’s labeled now

I know it looks messy right now, and I really appreciate how honest you’ve been with us. We hear the struggle, and we are working on this. It won’t all change overnight, but we’re taking your feedback seriously and tackling these things as fast as we can.

I agree with all the sentiments (from everyone but QueenB) on this thread. This forum was far superior to reddit before the recent big change. It is now slightly worse than reddit (due to all the bugs), which is pretty bad - reddit is terrible. I now come here far less often, and mostly just read and don't post anymore. It's sad that we lost such a great environment here, but it's pretty clear that the change has permanently ruined this site, as the horrible reply function has made it impossible to go back to a proper Forum format. I am sad that there is is no longer a good place on the internet for discussing Candy Crush.

That's the problem though some of the feedback provided is for issues that shouldn't even require feedback.

Things like the 'New' tag being visible after a post has been viewed several times, the number of new posts in a thread still being displayed after that thread has been viewed and not being directed to the new posts in a thread are all just basic functions of a forum and shouldn't require feedback to get them fixed as they shouldn't be broken in the first place.

QueenB, it is not the site behaving badly, it is the people responsible for removing what was working making everything more difficult for players. It is no longer fun entertainment for players & just greed to get players spending more money. My days of buying bars is now over.

Ah, that one’s on me. I totally forgot you were on mobile, so I see why what I said made zero sense on your screen.

Here’s where you’ll find the “What’s New” section on mobile:

Tap the little menu icon in the top left (three lines).
A side menu will slide open.
“What’s New” is right at the top of that list.
From there you can pick Candy Crush Saga and you’ll see the new tabs.

Thank you all for taking the time to write all of this out. I know it’s frustrating when the site doesn’t behave the way you expect, and I really appreciate how clearly you laid everything out as it helps us move faster.

Just a few updates while everything is still fresh:

“Somebody Needs Help” on Mobile

You were absolutely right that it disappeared on mobile. We’ve already added a temporary fix for this.
If you open the Candy Crush section you’ll now see a Help / Somebody Needs Help tab right under What’s New.
It’s not the prettiest solution yet, but at least it puts the unanswered questions back where mobile users can actually find them.
(Sharing a screenshot so you can spot it easily.)

“Share Feedback” sending people to Ideas

Totally agree this wording is confusing. “Share Feedback” sounds like general comments, not feature suggestions. We’re looking at renaming this and improving that whole navigation bar so players land where they expect.

Old threads + search results

We’re also talking with our platform provider about the search digging up outdated posts and sending people down weird rabbit holes. This one’s a bigger job, but it’s already being looked into.

None of what you have shared is being ignored, on the contrary, your post kicked off a whole round of internal conversations today, and a few things have already been adjusted thanks to you 😉

Really appreciate you raising all of this. Keep an eye out for some improvements will start popping up as we tidy things up. And please keep the feedback coming 😉

I am sick of posts being labelled as new after I have viewed them multiple times. I am sick of my posts not showing on the main page after I have replied to a post. I am sick of trying to find the 'new posts' in a thread. I could go on, but I am sick of providing feedback without seeing change.

Worse than all of the above is the way that this forum now only works correctly for people on a laptop in landscape.

The 'share feedback' and other links do not appear on mobile and neither does the 'somebody needs help' link. Seeing as King insists on everyone playing their game in portrait I am really annoyed that this site is optimised to work in landscape.

Yes, that is one aspect that hasn't changed @MannyFae, but at least I noticed Christine at the top on several previous weeks, so that is a sign that the list is better than it used to be.

The people on the Top Contributors list are those who received multiple anniversary badges at once after logging in after years of inactivity to earn a lot of points. This has been going on week after week. The current system of determining top contributors is completely undermined by those anniversary badges.

The list of Top Contributors is not new @christinewupp it has always been there. It is a list of people that have earned the most community points. It wasn't much use though because it used to show Kiara at the top all the time and it also used to include people that didn't even post anymore. The update seems to have made the list more topical now. Who the list is of use to though I couldn't say. Personally I think the bandwidth would be better utilised to reintroduce a translation tool.
