I think it's disrespectful to the player; you lose a stage and to continue you either spend gold (paid currency) or you watch an ad to gain a measly 1 extra move. You could be more generous.
I've had that on a Sunday that was about to finish Critter Catch but only for a short period. This is normal sometimes even if you use less ads.
