Question

Why can we only use 20 lives a day? I think it should be unlimited or at least 50.

Hi there! I understand that you would like to have more lives available in order to spend more time crushing those candies. The Studio made this change in order to balance the system so that lives can be collected, while still maintaining the technical aspects of this change which allow your app to function better by not storing an excess of lives locally on your device.

You are meant to pay gold bars to pass the hardest levels @Deal_One , so 20 lives per day is enough for this. There is nothing to be gained in Candy Crush any more by replaying levels again and again: If a level is passable then it will be passable on your first attempt, when you have the win streak boosters to help. On your first attempt you will always have one colour bomb from the win streak. If you then add the colour bomb pre level booster there is a chance that the game will help you by creating a double colour bomb combo on the opening board. If you do not start with a double colour bomb combo, then most legendary levels will require you to pay gold bars to get past. You only need to play a level three times to be offered +25 extra moves plus a UFO for 10 gold bars, which helps to pass just about any level (except some near the end of the game). So twenty lives is enough to get through one or two episodes per day.

This is how Candy Crush is meant to be played. It is a gold budgeting game. It is not about making specific moves to pass levels because the game decides if a board can be passed or not the moment the board loads. The game will give you gold bars for winning episode races and finishing the chocolate box, and boosters from a range of events. Those need to be used wisely to play Candy Crush without having to pay money.   We do not need more than 20 lives per day if we use this strategy to pay our way out of impossible levels. In my view this is the only strategy which now works in this game. Replaying levels again and again and again hoping the game will eventually let you pass no longer works.
