How to get back onto your feet if you are hopelessly stuck in Candy Crush (2026)

This will be an illustration of how to outwit the game to get back on your feet, but it only works if:

You are playing in the lower thousands levels (it probably won't work above level 10,000)
you have at least 10 gold remaining in your account plus some boosters you get for free from the game
you are willing to let go of your win streak

If you have no gold or are playing near the end of the map I suggest you follow the advice in my other threads.

We always said: In order to succeed you have to win every champions race. But is this really still true? I tested out what would happen if I get stuck inside an episode race. And this is what I found: the game will help you back on track with better rewards and more gold after losing the champions race.

To do this:

Don't play new levels for at least one week
Play previous easy levels only and daily to make some boosters from : Daily Spin, Chocolate box if possible, ads features, pin sparks boxes etc
After one week the game will probably offer you: Super Charger plus Candy Royale. If you wait for the weekend to play you might get elite Candy Royale and double points for the weekly race
Now play the level you are stuck on and spend the 10 gold bars needed to get past it
Finish the episode
Start the next episode and use timed boosters as available plus your own starting boosters for hard/super hard/nightmare/legendary levels. Play carefully to try and pass each level on your first attempt once the Super Charger and Candy Royale are active

The reason I think this works is this: If you are hopelessly stuck the game will send you some help in the form of events. Use these events wisely and you can get back on your feet.

It does help to have the ads features, so anyone who did make purchases in the past may find that this won't help them. The game is greedy: Once you spend money it tries to get you to spend more. So this method might not work if you are a paying customer already. (But I am not sure, it might work)

In my next post I will illustrate in detail how I made 202 gold bars from an initial investment of 10 gold and a few free boosters. I managed to do this without losing my weekly contest as well.

I so enjoyed reading this, Christine. I love strategizing the final few moves, whether I am playing myself or reading your posts. And you have such interesting boards here.

I recall level 4430 and that I had trouble with it. The portals are connected crosswise, and I think I only realized this after running out of moves. By the way, the fish hitting that last piece of toffee to let the dragon out is not a random behavior. The new fish do mind the portals and know how they are connected. If the dragon is sitting over the portal, they will attack whatever is blocking it from falling through. Great that a fish came to the rescue. I hate them, but sometimes they can actually be useful.

On level 4415 I think there was a possibility of using a switch to create a color bomb from purples on the right with the color bomb + fish combo as a last move. Since multiple fish can now attack the same tile, it would require one switch instead of two. But, if I were a player stuck with no gold, just some free boosters from events, I probably would not risk it and would end up using two switches as well. If I wanted to win without boosters, I would strike a wrap+wrap combo hoping for a lucky cascade (and most likely fail).

Total gain: 202 gold bars over the two episodes

A fantastic outcome. Great that the old, trusted method still works and works so well. At least there's some hope left for those who are badly stuck.

I think you are right that it probably would work even without ads. In this case it would be possible for anyone to get back on their feet with a one-off purchase of a few gold bars. Obviously I cannot wholeheartedly recommend this, but I have illustrated that it is possible to "invest" just 10 gold bars and a few free boosters to get back on track to making a handsome gold profit.

This is my test result.

I decided to stop playing new levels midway through episode 4386-4400, deliberately failing the episode race. I logged in daily, make any free boosters I could (without watching any ads because I hate having to sit through ads). I last played a few new episodes near the beginning of last week and had got on the podium of my weekly race through this.

The game offered me the super charger a few days ago. The offer remained permanent. The game also offered me Candy Royale, the Elite version this weekend.

Today (Sunday) I decided to start playing new levels again to see what would happen.

I got infinite lives from the daily treat machine three days in a row. I replayed the level I was stuck on multiple times with these lives: No luck. There was only one way to continue: Pay 10 gold for additional moves. Candy Royale started only after I had passed this first level that I had been stuck on. I was on the lowest tier but had the elite version for passing 21 levels.

Now I decided to finish the failed episode. The super charger activated before the end of the episode. I had to use one lollipop to pass legendary level 4399. Level 4400 I had double super charger combo on my opening board. To my surprise I won timed boosters getting last in the lost episode race plus the offer to gain 3 gold by watching two ads. Not a bad prize for such a failure.

The next race was set to offer me just 25 gold.

But: I got the Elite Race offer, plus the Delicious Dash, plus 10 gold at the end for watching ads, so in fact the standard first race paid me 45 gold bars!:

Here are some of the levels I had to overcome to win this prize:

Level 4410 I had to use two hand switches.

Level 4412 I used one lollipop hammer.

Level 4413 I needed 5 extra moves, but I watched ads for those

Level 4414 looked really tricky and I thought I was going to fail here:

I decide to be bold and played a UFO to see what would happen:

This illustrates the luck factor very well: The game wanted me to play that booster at that point and rewarded me with this winning colour bomb + fish combo. It illustrates that playing the right booster at the right time will lead to a pass because the game will send you the candies needed to finish (usually involving fish). You need a feel for this of course, some experience with the game. I am not sure if I could have passed otherwise on my first attempt with 5 extra moves, so the UFO was the best option here and I can (still….) get one free UFO each week from Season Pass.

Level 4415 I won using just one hand switch. This was the trickiest of all the levels and I enjoyed the challenge so I will illustrate it here:

As you see above with three moves left I am still lacking one key. There are stacks of toffee underneath that last caged dragon and the situation looks unwinnable and way off at this stage. I played the suggested move (fish + stripe combo) hoping to get the last key:

I got a colour bomb from this and it can hit an orange candy to get that key. I am willing to try my luck with this, which is also the hinted move.

Maybe someone clever like @MannyFae can work out if I could have won here just striking the wrap combo but I decided to not take that risk and made the match of 5 to create a colour bomb with the orange candies next to the dragon on the right. Only I used a hand switch to make that match, so I still had the one move left after it:

I still had no idea if striking the double wrap combo now would work and I could have used a second hand switch to bring the dragon on the right to definite safety, but I took a leap of faith here and struck the combo, which worked:

I got some timed starting boosters from coming first in the episode race and used them to play another. I also had timed colour bombs from winning the Annoying Troll event. (It was the 2000 orange version, one UFO plus some timed boosters the prize) With those timed boosters I played one more episode to get the Candy Royale prize, which turned out to be 87 gold.

The second episode was easier and I passed every level with no additional boosters nor the need to spend gold. This was the only tricky level I was not sure of:

I was unsure which move to make here. The game hint was: super charger plus fish combo, but I just did not think this would be much use. There is a temptation to use a hand switch or lollipop to create a double super charger combo but I decided to try pass with no boosters. I created a fish making a four match with the purples next to the two colour bombs in the middle, which created a super charger plus wrap combo:

That was exactly what was needed and this is the result after I struck the combo:

What this level illustrates beautifully is this:

The first three moves and the last three moves are what decides the outcome. The middle section just seems to no longer matter at all. I made a lot of mistakes after these genius opening two moves, because I couldn't really figure out which way the portals went, and of course toffee falls and blocks some of the paths from the top. I hardly made any progress at all in the next 16 moves!

I was pretty clueless at this point. But when it came to the last move the game sent me a jelly fish to hit that blocker at the top left, which was the one that I should have concentrated on all along….

That's Candy Crush in a 2026 for you.

I won another 45 gold for that episode race and in the process finished a gold chocolate box giving me 25 more gold. I also managed to get onto the podium in my weekly race and will open the third chest tomorrow:

All but two of the players stopped playing days ago, so I know the game is letting me win this.

If we count in the chocolate box prize (the last choc was for using pre level boosters) I made:

45 + 45 gold from the two episode races (including 12 from watching ads)

25 gold from the chocolate box

87 gold from Candy Royale

Total gain: 202 gold bars over the two episodes

I would definitely recommend this way of playing now: Stop - start - stop - start. It fools the game into thinking we are about to give up, so it gives us better prizes and easier games.

I think that what I have found from all my tests this past week is that even though we are all playing the same overall level difficulty now the first attempt boards are bespoke: So I do believe I was given some help by the game with easier/luckier first attempt boards in these two episodes.

I am sure this would also work for players who are genuinely stuck in mid episode.

This is very good advice, Christine! For anyone with ads, it is essentially guaranteed to be able to get them going again as long as you gather enough boosters from ads before starting. But even without ads, if you're patient enough, I'm sure it can get you going again even without ads.

With ads, this can get you going again anywhere on the map, although it will require a lot of ads to stay at the end of the map, I think. Without ads, I think you're probably right about it likely not working very well above level 10000. If you're above 10000, it can still get you going if you're patient enough, but likely it will only carry you through a few episodes and then you'll be stuck again and have to do it all over again.
