Now the ads are totally broken. Trying to watch an ad for extra moves, candies, and just now after winning a race I attempted to watch an ad for 5 extra gold and it did the same thing. The ad showed a black screen and went back to the game and the 5 gold were greyed out. This has happened to my wife all day also. How are we supposed to get ahead in the All Stars challenge if we can’t watch an ad for moves, lives, extra gold, candies? This need to be fixed now. It just happened again and this is what happens after watching a black screen for a video. Clicking claim does nothing either.

There are quite a few complaints about several issues that are causing people's game's to freeze, so it could be you are caught up in that. Check the Announcements in the Support board of this forum for more information.
Pressing the X of an advert and being taken to a website, or some other issue is something else that has been complained about for a long time now as well.
I had an advert last week that played and then it didn't offer me an X at all. I had to close my game to continue.
As you say the issues do need to be fixed, but King seem to be struggling as these issues have been going on for three years now.
Unfortunately the best thing to do is report the adverts to King using the help function of your game. This way at least King can target the worst of the adverts.
Some adverts have a little 'Ad' button at the bottom left. Pressing this provides you with three choices as you can see below
Select the Broken button and then let the advert finish. I can't guarantee that this will work, but I did this for one advert over a week every time it appeared and that advert stopped appearing in my game.
Your ads seem to be broken because they’ve cost me gold, extra moves, and extra lives the last few days (February 27th to March 1st). This is getting very frustrating when an ad will allow me to finish a board but the ad freezes, plays to the end but it won’t allow you to press X to close and collect. This needs to be fixed.
