do you think it matters when you start your race? Are the contestants already set up? I trying to collect more boosters by watching ads before I start my race…
Hello @HeidiPG . This is a good question as this year the set-up in the qualifier rounds might be different but the advice Nobody1 gave you is still the best we can offer at this point.
The first round is a taster, a qualifier. The time of entry probably does not matter much at all. Half the players will go through and my guess is that King will allocate players in such a way that anyone who plays two episodes per day will be able to get through to the next round. That seems to be the benchmark of how qualifying rounds worked for the last few events I played. Remember all you need to do is get one of the top five places. Ignore any player who runs off in first place as you don't need to catch them to get to the next round.
If you mean All Stars, for the early rounds it is probably best to wait at least a few hours before joining. It is often true that the people who start right at the beginning of the day will go like crazy and be hard to keep up with. I've had a lot of luck with earlier rounds waiting 8 to 10 hours before joining.
You can take this to the extreme and wait until just a day or even several hours before the end of the round, but this can go very wrong if someone else gets into a group a couple of hours before you, so you can't catch them. Really don't do this for the later rounds if you make it that far. For round 6, if you want to win, you need to start the minute it opens and not stop until 24 hours later when it ends.
Honestly, for the qualifier round it probably doesn't matter too much - as long as you can finish a bunch of levels it shouldn't be hard to make top 5 and qualify. Christine's advice to just aim for enough to guarantee you qualify and not try to win the early rounds is great advice - save your resources for later rounds!
