Something strange happens with the Free Switch (And possibly Striped Brush) Boosters in where a few events either stopped giving it as a reward or no longer ask the user to use it.
This started with Sweet Cinema where Jelly Fish took its spot (But this change was reverted for now and has the original form). This wasn't met with good reception as many used that event for Free Switches.
It was then continued with Weekly Contest where the Podium Prize initially had no timed Free Switch or Brush but still had 2 Free Switches in the rewards, later converted into 2 Lollipops increasing them to 4 with rewards in the first two Weekly Contest positions being different as well (But this change was reverted for now and has the previous rewards which were known for the most of 2025)
Next, the Party Booster (15min Color Bomb for some initially) was added to the booster wheel replacing Free Switch. This also affected Jackpot where Party and 15min UFO can be obtained from it. This change was met with good reception given Party can help passing levels easily.
Also, the third and fifth Color Bomb Series tracks give a Lollipop in place of Free Switch on the 1st place in addition to the first and fourth tracks. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to explore this change as Color Bomb Series disappeared quietly minutes after completing the first track.
Finally, I've noticed lately as of March 2026/Late February 2026 but no earlier than 18 February 2026 (On 17th February 2026 I did got Free Switch on a Chocolate Box, specifically Silver) that Chocolate Boxes no longer give the player to use Free Switch (Applies to both old style and new styles ones), with the Lollipop being the only booster task that can be done on the old style boxes before the fourth task in the Silver and Gold boxes. Months ago, I've hit an old style box where all four options of the third task were alternating between Lollipop Hammer and Free Switch. Stiped Brush booster usage is never featured in Chocolate Box, however.
Indirectly, it is also removed from Factory Frenzy Rewards if you play on a device where Baker's Box exist and hasn't been finished yet where 7 Spoons replace Free Switch. The Season Pass rewards, even in the ones from the old version that works with old levels also lack Free Switch.
Does this mean that Free Switch is going to be removed in the near future or is going to become less focal in the game going forward? One can still buy Free Switches (And Striped Brushes) with gold bars. And the qualifier chest of the All Stars for the 1st position does include Free Switch and so do the Pins feature (Except the final reward since months ago). If Free Switch is getting removed in the future, then we need to make new strategies that won't depend on it.
