G'day y'all,
Samaria here to report the progress for the last twelve hours of the first round of the first knockouts.
I have made very little progress in the previous two days. I made a purchase, no matter how small that I am expected to never do. I lost my double colour bomb by unusual means. The little progress I made was specifically performed to keep track of the two players ahead of me, which I know one of them have hexed their way, while the other had lost a 286-plus streak.
As of now, the top player, Jacob (the one who lost the long streak) was overtaken by Jason (the hex0r). I now have exactly 30k-score deficit, meaning I have to complete fifteen episodes. I need to have at least five hours left to catch up to him, provided that none of these players returned to the game, and provided nobody made a desperation hex to claim the lead and nuke their next round.
Day 4
I concluded my first two days with exactly 5000 GB at the end of the second day. I spent my gold on a set of striped brushes, and nothing else
For the entirety of that day, I will only make progress for optimizing the timing of my Daily Stamps.
Standby Phase
Before the first sitting, I was watching Sweet Cinema to stock up on my free switches and lollipop hammers. I also have a Daily Stamp pass to claim, and I am one episode away from receiving my 30m lollipop hammer pass from the world boundary.
First Sitting (7:00pm)
Three episodes completed. The leaderboard after the completion is the left one.
I have eight striped brushes left, along with seven UFOs and four party boosters. In average, I use one UFO every two episodes; striped brushes are useful to convert colour bombs into C+S combos and wrapped candies into S+W combos. I also have to mind my supply of free switches and lollipop hammers as that could convert two colour bombs into a starting C+C combo.
Change in Evaluation
After returning from dinner, I noticed that the two players ahead of me both returned to the game, and that the second-ranked player at that time, Jason, overtook Jacob by hexing him. I bet he will nuke not only his All Stars run, but also all of us!
Jason paused after fifteen minutes, leaving the next five players to slog their way to the lead. I may have to hex anyways lest Jason deploys another hex to worsen our days!
The Slog, Part 1 (2:00am)
My double colour bomb came back. I currently finished the 350th episode in the game, only one episode away from the first replica episode. I am not seeing the "playing now" indicator. It will take roughly another two hours and a half to resolve this.
The Slog, Part 2 (6:00am)
I am able to overtake Jacob, while he was inactive and likely sleeping.
The Slog, Part 3 (7:00am)
Jacob wakes up, likely surprised that he is already overtaken. I saw the green "Playing Now" indicator from the hex0r, so it is observation time. I can observe he is using a third hex, as he is progressing faster than me, forcing me to make the difficult decision to hex back.
The Slog, Part 4 (8:00am)
With Jacob coming back for a few minutes and then leaving, I can safely assume I have secured my ticket to the fifth and penultimate stage. Though I lost a hex, the hex-battlers lost them all.
Game plan
The quarterfinals is a forty-episode negative play, with twenty-four episodes accounted by the hex-battlers alone, and the final decisive point being Jacob waking up and attempting to hex over me. I am able to repulse him, because otherwise he would use more hexes to secure his lead.
