In my opinion in app purchases shouldnt be an option during the all star tournament. It should be based off dedication and talent, not who has endless funds to buy their way to the top to win 1 mill. Not everyone has that luxury.
A million point difference? How was that possible? Fraud? :0
I understand where you are coming from @pusch02 and like you I wish there were a better way for the competition to be organised. I don't like all of the so-called qualifier and knockout rounds as in reality no one is knocked out until the end of the Second Chance 2 rounds.
Ultimately whether you spend money or not the All Stars isn't a competition based on talent as there is no real skill involved n playing the game. When it comes to competitions like this one the only skill you need is the ability to play quickly and non-stop.
Ultimately though where do you think the prize money is coming from? Without in-app purchases and people willing to spend to play there wouldn't be a £1,000,000 prize fund.
You can't buy yourself a ticket to London @pusch02.

As an example: During All Stars 2025 I made it to the final rounds with 20,000 gold bars that I had saved up over the year. I did make it to the 3rd final knockout rounds because of my experience and speed, but I failed to win. I ended up third in my leaderboard, one million points behind the winners, despite all my gold. I still had 10,000 gold left in my account at the end of tournament!
No amount of gold bars or money can guarantee anyone a win of the tournament!
All Stars happens once a year. Everyone gets so much time to amass a treasure trove of boosters and gold bars. As long as they play the game right leading up to All Stars, non-paying players are hardly at a disadvantage during All Stars.
I say this as someone who hasn't spent any money on Candy Crush Saga. In less than a year, I amassed enough resources to crush candy for 24 hours straight in round 3 of the Final Knockouts. I won't be doing that, however, because I play the game quite casually and just for fun.
Also, think about it from King's perspective: it would be a bad business decision to shut off the revenue stream during the year's largest tournament.
