I am raising this suggestion because effective today, several players, including me, are reporting that the Sweet Cinema is no longer offering the Free Switch booster. The two affected boosters are either replaced by the Jelly Fish (which also needs to be reworked), or even worse, with X's where each board only offers ten out of sixteen boosters. (see proof)
Thank you @QueenB for pointing out that "The team is working on a simpler set of boosters that are easier to understand and more powerful in clear moments." (see link)
From that text, I can spot numerous inconsistencies in the argument she conveyed (she is the messenger, by the way):
- The hand booster is considered a less powerful booster than both the UFO and the Party Booster. It has a wide set of use cases, though it is less obvious than the premium booster.
- For example, one can create another color bomb while the player is short of moves but have an arrangement of five candies that can be switched to form a color bomb. One can also convert two color bombs into a C+C combo.
- A small number of ingredients levels have "stuck zones" or even "dead zones" where the hand booster should or must be used lest the player end up unwinnable.
- The Striped Brush is the lowest-value but also the rarest of the bottom-row boosters to obtain. From Queen B's "for example row/column clear," it is clear that the Striped Brush is to be promoted in importance, yet @HM100 suspected that the Striped Brush seems to be targeted for retirement.
- The Striped Brush can be used to convert any special candy into a combo.
- I have personally used Striped Brushes over UFOs and Party Boosters to clear levels when I was otherwise going to lose by a small margin.
- I have also pre-emptively used Striped Brushes when I have created a colour bomb to clear more candies and blockers.
- For over one year, the fish booster is made redundant, as permanent Fishing Season has been implemented.
- I would propose that the fish boosters should be reworked, but not exactly like the sequels. This is Candy Crush, and we still want some distinction from the sequels.
- Yet as a test feature the fish booster was put into the Sweet Cinema board.
- The hand booster is systematically being removed from almost all events, not just Sweet Cinema. Having a board with just one hand booster would be a fairer deal, or make the hand booster a frequent reward across other events (and the same for striped brushes).
I hope the team would be able to keep the ten boosters while making it reasonably uncommon to obtain in normal free gameplay.
