I don’t know why, but when I left the app to take a call, it glitched and didn’t start the next level with the double colour bomb, even tonight I was on a streak. When I then lost the level it said I had lost the double colour bomb again?

I am sorry to hear about the glitch you are experiencing in your game!
(1) Losing the Super Colorbomb after losing a level is normal, as that is how the game team designed the feature!
(2) But, losing it just by leaving the App is not normal - unless the level you were playing was not finished and the App got closed - with which, the App thinks the levels was not finished!
If you did complete the level and go back to map screen before taking the call, I would recommend you to report the issue to King Player Support team from your game App.
