I got a mystery candy power up and i used it and all it gave me was another cream to break as the goal. Is this a bug or is it meant to do that? Thanks π. (This was in the episode race, are you not allowed to use power ups?)
It is meant to do that. The lucky candy booster will spawn items you need for the orders. If your level objectives include blockers, it will spawn blockers. In the past, when Candy Crush had more variety in level types, it was a strategic booster. Now it mostly has become obsolete due to fish and level overhaul.
It can still be occasionally useful on levels where the items you need drop from dispensers at a very slow rate, or on levels where the required items are locked, and you don't have enough moves to unlock them. Such levels are mostly found in the 6000-17000 range.
