Hello, everyone.
Months ago, I wrote a short story that crossed Candy Crush Saga with Bethesda and MachineGames' critically acclaimed Indiana Jones and the Great Circle by visually replacing certain characters in the beginning of the game with Candy Crush Saga characters, which you can read here. Mr. Dragon, husband of Denize, assumes the role of Indiana Jones, while Mr. Toffee is Marcus Brody and Mr. Yeti is the mysterious giant Indy fights.
However, after some thought, I decided that it was time to give that story a little more oomph with some more story content to cover. So I wrote a new, expanded version of this same short story on DeviantArt! A few major changes I made to it are as follows:
- This version starts at an earlier point back into the Great Circle's opening dream sequence about Indy's iconic trip to Peru, particularly right after the moment he restrains Satipo in the temple's inner sanctum and tells him that he's afraid of him not being afraid ("Let us hurry, we have nothing to fear!"/"That's what scares me").
- This version fully adapts the story of the game's Marshall College level from start to finish, covering much of what Indy did at the college after discovering which relic was stolen. You'll read about how he patched himself up in a medical room (which the game uses as a tutorial for using bandages to recover health), his retrieval of the mysterious medallion the giant left behind and him packing his bags for Italy and Vatican City to begin his adventure.
- I have now given the short story an official title, "The Stolen Licorice Cat Mummy", to indicate what part of the game's story it adapts. I also had the leisure of renaming Indiana Jones to Candiana Jones, with the nickname Indy likewise being changed to "Candy". Also note that I have also added in some extra details to make sure readers feel that Indy is a tall, snakelike dragon, like him discovering his gummy, scaly skin being bruised after the fight with the giant and his use of his prehensile tail to quickly and stylishly pack his belongings in the only way a monster version of him could.
