I'm presently at level 6515, playing on a desktop Windows computer via Facebook.
Starting today, I'm seeing new graphics — big stripes that overtake the game background and are then gone, a new "Delicious" sign at the top of the game, and other things which I've momentarily forgotten. Personally, I think the new graphics are unnecessary. To put it bluntly, they are distractions from the game itself.
Talking about distractions, I have also noticed that the space allotted to the actual playing area has shrunk once more. The purple bar at the top is much thicker and takes up more vertical space than it took up before. Also, the row of icons at the bottom remains bigger than it used to be. In addition, the blank space above and below the play area has increased. I am using a desktop computer so I can have a large screen, so why must the playing area shrink and shrink and shrink and shrink? It has been happening for a few years now. The time is going to come when I have to wear glasses to play CCS, and I do not want to have to do that.
Despite the fact that I have found ways to make the game easier to play lately (mainly by paying King less money), the shrinking game-play area may eventually put me off the game altogether.
