Sending and receiving lives

I have been unable to send or receive lives for the last few days. Whenever I try to send lives I get the face book message "Give a Life to your friends" and when i click send I get a message saying "sorry, something went wrong. We are working on it and we'll get it fixed as soon as we can". Is this a facebook problem or a candy crush problem?
