No longer able to exit an unstarted board without losing lives - Information and feedback

Dear community,

I'd like to share with you some information in regards to a god old known issue of the game:

as you may be aware, when we access a level, we don't use any move and we exit the level without playing it, we don't lose any life.

This behaviour was not intended since the very beginning and very soon, this issue is going to be fixed.

That means that, once it's fixed, if we access a level to check it out, we don't do anything and we decide to exit the level to go back to the map, we will be losing a life.

It seems that back in the Spring, King first eliminated the ability to reset the board. Then, in a post made on June 4th, a community manager announced King reversed its decision and allowed it once again. Now, we're being told that this was a "game issue" as if it were some glitch that had existed since the game was released and was "fixed." They "fixed" it back in June! Now they are "fixing" the "fix" and revoking the ability once again.

So, beware those who continue to play -- the "fix" is in.

I’ve managed to stay up with the levels being released each month until now, I’m at 5868 and can’t get to the next level unless I make a purchase. Makes me wonder if anyone even looks at all the comments. I’ve even emailed King about the issue and they don’t respond.

This is an absolute dealbreaker for me too. I’ve been playing this game for maybe 10 years. Up to almost 2,000 (didn’t realise until this issue how many levels there are!). I can’t handle this “fix”. I’m hanging up my boots until you unfix it.

I won’t stop playing but certainly won’t make anymore purchases. It’s all about the money!!! That’s why we can’t start a new game without losing a life. The new game sucks!!!!

"King gained fame after releasing the cross-platform title Candy Crush Saga in 2012, considered one of the most financially successful games utilising the freemium model. King was acquired by Activision Blizzard in February 2016 for US$5.9 billion, and operates as its own entity within that company."

The initial company built its reputation on the loyalty of fans and took care to listen to what they wanted. Doesn't seem to be the case of the new company anymore. Expert players who know all the tricks of the trade don't really need to spend a lot to advance fast. They are not profitable. So they think. They forget that they are actually the ones fueling all the business.

The young history of IT is replete with examples of IT companies who disappeared overnight after they started to treat their client base as the enemy. The example of dbase2 comes to mind (long time ago). some of their customers were using unlicensed version of their program and they started to send the police to about everybody, including legitimate honest customers who never did anything wrong. They tried to win more money in spite of the fact that they earned plenty already. The result is that probably nobody even know today that they ever existed. They just went ploof into thin air.

IT is a tough market. Make a mistake and thousands of others are quick to rush in to take your place and you end up all alone full of debts you will never be able to pay back.

I can say not having the ability to shuffle the board without losing a life is not that big a deal, but my gameplay doesn't reflect it. I played far more frequently on the account that had the ability, getting to level 1769 and collecting the most Sugar Stars there.

The other account, which never had the ability, I play less - only at L1704 - and have few Sugar Stars collected there.

So as others here have confirmed, I too was more engaged with the game when having the ability to shuffle the board.

Now that I've lost the ability altogether, it remains to be seen how engaged I am with CCS..

+1 for others who have said, you sometimes get starting boosters in unplayable spots, without the ability to reset the board, these are lost (?stolen), you are charging for something (boosters) which often cannot be used as advertised. Very very poor service

Utter shambles of a decision to change this, some starting boards make the level impossible, particularly on the harder levels. Lost another player here

I first registered here when they decided to stop the reset of board when exiting the game (without losing lives), they reversed that decision after an outrage.

This change is even worse than that. I’m at 5913 for days since this stupid move was made. And this is an easy level which I normally would been able to clear in minutes, if not hours. I’ve not spent any money and will never spend money on a game. Superbly annoyed and I’m deleting the app for good.

You could say the same about all the timed levels being removed. I never understood that. One thing to stop making new timed levels another to remove all the previous ones. And when I started to play there was no BOT, daily rewards, Dexter, sugardrops etc. Only boosters I had were the ones from the daily spin

I have enjoyed playing this game... until now. I am at level 4360 and this will be as far as I get.
This is a deal breaker for me and I will no longer play.
Let me know if you reconsider and restore the function.

Yesterday I thought „give it a chance“ and picked up playing only to see me waste 4 coconut wheels because it was put on some impossible to use location in a row. That‘s frustrating as it takes such a long time To collect those boosters and then you just waste it for nothing. Why have starter boosters at all then?

changes in a game play should mean improvement or bringing extra joy to it, but this just frustrates and makes the whole game just much less fun. It doesn’t bring extra complexity to it which we could like for having more challenge. It just wastes boosters. I don’t even think that will lead to people buying more because paying money for something that gets randomly wasted makes no sense.

King, change it back!

you See here people playing for years just signing into this forum only to say this. Hear the voices of your gamers that were loyal to this game for years and just change it back. You don’t loose reputation, you will gain it because you listen to your customers.

Hello, I actually have 2 separate accounts that I play on. My main account that I had been playing on since May of 2023 is at level 18,494 and the 2nd account is at 1,611. Only the first gummy dragon dispenses. Then, no matter how I match, clear the board, use striped or wrapped candies or have up to 14 moves left, NO more dragons dispense. Please help!
