No longer able to exit an unstarted board without losing lives - Information and feedback

Dear community,

I'd like to share with you some information in regards to a god old known issue of the game:

as you may be aware, when we access a level, we don't use any move and we exit the level without playing it, we don't lose any life.

This behaviour was not intended since the very beginning and very soon, this issue is going to be fixed.

That means that, once it's fixed, if we access a level to check it out, we don't do anything and we decide to exit the level to go back to the map, we will be losing a life.

Here’s my feedback. Since the change I tried to persevere with the game. I’m now on level 3156 (not even designated as a hard level). I’m only allowed 10 moves so I’ve played my 5 lives in a matter of about 3 minutes. And then I have to put my phone down and find something else to do. In fact King have succeeded in making the game MUCH LESS addictive! I am getting so bored of playing the same level over and over and over again (with the prospect of having to do this for every level going forward) that it has lost all appeal for me. Today is the somewhat sad but also entirely liberating day that I am going to delete the Candy Crush app!!

Ok so have no idea how this forum thing works but on level 5939 without spending one cent but the changes this week are the last straw I know I’m a tight git but a game should be more about skill not dollars you are going to loose so many players unless you revert this 😡😡😡

So, if the “fix” is not part of a trial and is permanent for all, then why can’t we a response from the Studio on an announcement? I’ll wait until Friday and if no response then I’m done with all things CC.

I've already contacted our support team and, on their behalf, I apologize for the confusion that this have caused you.

The Studio is not trialling with this change. As I've been sharing with you guys throughout this forum discussion, the change is for all players.

Its not so much previewing the Board but being able to exit a level you played and won and it not updating between devices. Who cares if some people preview the Board? In 2018 players spent $4.2 million dollars A DAY on Candy Crush boosters and I'm sure the daily 2019 number is higher. King Games can afford to put it back. Limit it to 5 times a day if you must but this is not a "fix" in the interest of your dedicated players.

I don't know for sure because I'm not on levels that high... But looking at this particular board I see blue wrapped and striped side by side a few rows under the problem candy. Perhaps, if the locked cases don't whiff them out, you could have used those to hit the color bomb and see what happens. Its possibly hiding the candy you want, not replacing it?? Just a thought...

Nope, did that with a double CB, doesn't work. You need a yellow bomb (or anything else yellow) to switch the cherry out of the board.

I am sorry to hear that you are running out of memory on your iPad! I don't have an iPad. My son has one given by the school. How much memory do you have there? Do you have photos and videos saved in your device? These are the ones that use lots memory. Do you use the iCloud to back-up your files? Do you know that you can also buy an iPad Memory Card to transfer some of your files to free-up space? Check on Apple Support to help you answer all these questions.

Sorry but I didn't quite understand what you were heading at! What is possible? What exactly is cheating? What is not unique about U.S. Citizens?

Can you please clarify what you were referring to? Are you referring to the Board Reset as Cheating? I didn't even know that this feature existed till it was taken away and reinstated last summer when the Moderator, Jelly_Jenny announced its return in June of this year.

Don't agree rats. They were making money, and more than plenty of it.

You don't sell for 467 million if you were losing money.

But when that is still not enough and you just want more and more and more - that is greed.

Until a month ago I didn't know it was possible, either. I told a friend that's been playing since day 2 just about, she didn't know either. A week later, BAM...buhbye reset. I came to this forum to find out where my videos went, discovered this at the same time. Neither "loss" is okay with me. The response King gives, "trialing features" is hooey and proves two things. They don't care and they are not LISTENING. Canned responses passing the blame, throwing other depts under the bus, "we didn't do it, we can't fix it"... Then why even bother answering the email? Forward it to someone that DID do it and CAN fix it. Good grief. Nearly 1000 comments, 60+ pages, discussions devolving into in-fighting over semantics... With the Community "Managers" unable to manage the situation. It seems that "the customer is always right" does not and never will apply in this Kingdom. We are all peasants expected to pledge fealty and v throw gold to the troll to play a free game. And the rich get richer... I'm surprised they haven't commanded the forum be shut down. Don't doubt that English is my Second Language! I wasn't born in the U.S.. I majored English in College aside from taking Computer Programming. Speaking three different languages as I told Suzy is sometimes a curse. Unfortunately, there are times when the brain that controls the language gets overstretched and maybe confused especially when I talk in one language one minute and switch to the other after that. My son only knows English. I understand his reactions when he hears me speaking in another language on the phone.

I am not starting a fight with you or anyone. I am sure the Studio Team understands that this change really makes a lot of players very angry. There is no point of protecting them. You are just making matters worse by getting some here irritated.

In behalf of the players/members here who are still hopeful that something positive will come out of this, I am asking you to let @Pounawea handle this situation to avoid altercation with anyone here!

I lost 127 lives, 125 coconut wheels, assorted other boosters and the stocking booster ability, plus a lot more. Ugh, I may as well start over (it did save progress through Facebook, just not extras). I had not planned on deleting the game, just not playing as much, and had just won the whole candy box. 😔😔😔😔😔

To the people who rant that they are so superior because they have never purchased boosters, keep in mind that on the iPad I play on, there have never been movies to watch to obtain boosters. The only thing I have to get boosters besides the daily spin wheel are color drops which give you useless timed boosters. I just started playing this game a few years ago...not from the beginning like some of you and I am on 5340...so no one should put down others for buying boosters because they haven’t had the same opportunities as the rest of you. I used to buy the piggy bank but I have stopped all purchases and deleted my credit card from iTunes in case i am even slightly tempted.

However, I will never spend money on Candy Crush again. It’s now 100% game of luck (where the boosters end up) and I don’t spend money on games of chance.

Keep hope alive kezza321. They "trialed" the reset for seven years and decided it wasn't in THEIR best interest to give players a "slight advantage", as they put it. They'd rather make the game impossibly difficult to try to force players to buy their virtual wares instead of buying them willingly because they wish to keep playing. Nothing short of being able to shuffle the board, at least ONE time, will be good enough if they don't reinstate the reset function. No one will buy boosters that are rendered useless by the game. It's preposterous that they even THINK it'll be accepted as the new norm.

I guess what I said didn't go through. I don't understand why someone would try to provoke a fight with members here whose main intention is only to restore the Free Board Reset which will benefit all if reinstated. I don't know what she gets for annoying and irritating players here this Holiday Season. Hopefully, it is worth her while.
