How to repair Candy Crush Soda

I play Candy Crush, Candy Crush Jelly, and Candy Crush soda on my Windows 10 PC, not linked to Facebook or King.com. This week, Candy Crush Soda stopped loading (I get orange flash screen "loading", then everything goes away). Cant link to anything because it wont start. The others still work. How can I repair the installation without losing all progress and gold bars?

Thanks, StuckInATree, for your help. None of these worked to restore my game. So, I put an empty hard drive in the machine, did a recovery to the latest backup I had (October, 25), and then played the game. Then I linked to Facebook and closed down. Put back my original hard drive, uninstalled Candy Crush Soda, then re-installed Candy Crush Soda. I then linked this new install of Candy Crush Soda to Facebook. This got my game and gold bars as of October 25 re-established. However, I lost all of my power tokens (candy hammers, striped candy, hands, etc). This is probably the best I can do. I am not very happy with the whole experience but your help was a shining light.

Note: this may have a different user name because I had trouble signing in tonight but I am not going to fix that. I just built a new user so I could answer.

Thank you for the suggestion. The Microsoft trouble shooter you linked identified that my Windows Store cache was corrupt but it could not repair it. I have a backup for EVERYTHING on this computer and can restore it if I know which file/folder is corrupt. So this helped, but did not resolve the issue. Still, thanks. NOW does anyone know where the windows store cache is kept on my Windows 10 machine?

The whole reason to link to Facebook and King.com is to have a back up copy of your game saved, if you haven't done that already there isn't much you can do. Try this out: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/instantanswers/69e76f90-d54c-44cf-9851-c2d1542790db/run-the-troubleshooter-for-windows-apps Hopefully it'll be able to fix it without reinstall the app but you'll have to check and find out.

Bake a cake
for the umteenth time I play bake a cake and just as we are close to finishing getting the top two prizes, progress goes away and start a new bake arrives. I can see in inbox that cake is backed and I participate in helping back, but haven’t received top prizes in last multiple times
