Why so many clicks!

why do I have to click through so so many portals to get to my current level?

Regarding your issue, that might be because your avatar got stuck in a level! Don't worry though, all it takes is replaying the level that has no stars in it and that will unstuck it.

If that's not what you meant, please share a screenshot with us so we can better understand the issue and help you accordingly!

I've checked and all the levels have stars associated with them.  This is becoming quite annoying as I have traveled through another portal and now must click through 4 to return to my current position.

@Sheilahj, please try to replay that lower level even though it has stars on it.  All players that have reported it, their avatar was stuck so replay it, clear it and then refresh the game.  Please write back and let us know if it finally progressed.
