7 + 2 = 9 and 9 x 6 = 54

HINT: look again carefully at the bottom line because the math symbols are tricky to your eye. So 9 x 6 equals 54 (not 9 + 6 = 15)

I originally was thinking the way you are, but my algebra classes from (COUGH) years ago were niggling in the back of my brain so I texted on of my sons. He explained this mnemonic device thing where basically multiplication and division before any addition and subtraction. So...7 + (2 × 6) = 19
