I forgot to ask you something important, what's your user ID? This way community manager can locate your game account and look into friends feature.
To find this unique number please launch Soda app, tap on cogwheel icon and visit settings page. At the top you'll see King logo, please tap twice on it. It'll be replaced by your user ID number. More infos here

do you mean that you clicked the button to ask for a life or typed a message in chat asking your friends for a life?
Which device do you use ? (make and model)
did you try troubleshooting steps? Does the problem still persist after troubleshooting?

*it depends on on the type of the device. Read all details here.
If you own Android mobile, visit device Settings - Apps - Candy Crush Soda Saga - Storage - Clear Cache. Be careful not to click "clear data" which deletes your boosters
If you own Apple mobile, visit Settings - Safari - Clear History and Website Data

I'm not sure I understand your question. from what I know, the method to ask friends for a life has not changed.
Please answer these questions:
Which device do you use to play Soda? (Model)
Do you play Soda on multiple devices? Which ones?
Do you play on app or Facebook webpage?
Do mean you ask your friends for lives and they don't send you a life?
Do you mean friends from your friends list?
Or friends from your team?
Feel free to take screenshots and attach your pictures here so I understand better

Return the old version of applying for new lives to friends ... I don’t get lives through the social center ... I have to leave the game ... it was already like this last year - they helped, but yesterday they changed it again

This system should be in the process of being distributed to all Soda players, eventually nobody will have the old system to exchange lives.
I'll pass on your feedback. As of now I can only suggest not to stop adding friends to your game, keep adding them every day, so the chances to find players with this system increase.
You could always start to add each other as friends and ask lives among yourselves since you'll both benefit from it and test firsthand whether it works or not in your respective games. You have the possibility to talk about it among yourselves on the forum and let Soda developers know 🙂
To add friends, one needs to share the social link and the othes needs to click on it and accept the request. more infos here
for the umteenth time I play bake a cake and just as we are close to finishing getting the top two prizes, progress goes away and start a new bake arrives. I can see in inbox that cake is backed and I participate in helping back, but haven’t received top prizes in last multiple times
