How to check for updates: open Microsoft Store - open library (1) - tap on "get updates" at the top right
How to check for Soda app version installed : open Microsoft Store - library (1) - games (2) - Candy Crush Soda Saga (3) - scroll down the page until you find app version (5)

provided you use a game account to save your progress, did you try to log out restart device log in and play a few levels? Do you still see the same error?
