Saving gummy bears

Why is saving gummy bears a partner event? When I took every shot at every Target and the partner didn't take a single shot... How about making saving the gummy bears a single person event so you're not waiting on somebody else to do nothing while you kick butt all by yourself? I think the most help I have had on one event is my buddy hitting one target while I hit the rest. You shouldn't have any progress held up by other people when you could do it all by yourself anyways. Why are they receiving anything for participating at all when I didn't do anything?

I understand you mean the previous version of Rescue Buddies?
The current version, Competitive Rescue Buddies can be technically completed by players without the help of their opponents (partners).
If 2 players take part in a RB round and set the bear free, both will get rewards in the end. However the one who shot the cannon most times will get a bigger reward
