I used to be able to double tap special candies like fish or striped candies to activate without matching them with like colors. Just switched to new iPhone and this no longer works. It still works on the old phone. How to reactivate on new phone?

Double tapping boosters to activate is a test for certain groups of players. If players frequently use double-tapping boosters, the Studio may roll this out to all players. If it is used infrequently, this function may be turned off again for players. We have no influence on this, test groups can be changed by the Studio.
I can understand how unfair that sounds, as I also find double tapping a very nice experience, especially if you cannot combine the booster with anything else.

Please try following steps
Restart: Force close all open apps and restart your device. Leave it switched off for at least 10 seconds, then turn it on again.
Updates: Make sure you have the latest game and device updates
Memory: Do you have sufficient memory on your device? King recommends having at least 2GB free memory storage to run the game smoothly.
Connection: Try to connect to a WiFi connection instead of using cellular data
Clear Cache: in Android: go to settings - tap on apps - tap on candy crush soda - tap on storage - tap on clear cache (not data❗️)
————— in iOS: go to settings - tap on Safari - tap on Clear history and website data

Whenever I get rewards they automatically go onto the next game and get used very quickly. I do not want to use them all the time or all together. This seems to be a recent change. If I've paid for rewards and play 5 games they have gone straight away!
