I haven’t played soda since my 🆔 had changed on all my games.
I really don’t understand why the game creators (studio) would even think that taking the chat ability away is a good thing.The team chat really helps team players communicate with each other and help teammates know that there not alone.
Very disappointing for soda 🥤 players.😢

I'm also feel that team chat is better than news.

With due respect, what is it about the team "chat' feature of this game that is deemed necessary to be removed at this time? Why is the previous right to disable this feature when the House Rules not observed sufficient? What is the motivation behind this move?
It's really a head scratching decision.
Does it have anything to do with our community's consistently decreasing members and/or participants? Is it to encourage players to join? Because other than this, what could possibly be the reason?
The chat feature serves no detriment to the game, the players or the company. It's actually one of the basic and core feature of this game. It's also a means to reach out to team members. Whether to appreciate one's effort in baking the cake, a reminder to do so, or just plain conversation of support or anything a member needs. Why is this change now necessary when it was working very well for the players?
Your reasons you provided need further explanation and clarity.
1.) The "chat" function in teams was recently changed to "news" as a part of an initiative to ensure that all features in Soda follows an accessibility standard (in short terms, to make it as accessible for all types of players).
What does this exactly mean? So the "chat" feature according to you hampers or impedes some if not all the abilities of Soda's features to make it accessible to all types of players? How and it what sense?
2.) I hope that you can connect outside of the game like here on the forum to continue bonding as a team when you're not playing.
As I mentioned above, if this is the main reason for the removal of the chat, how you can expect our team members to join our community? I have been in the same team for a very long time and I'm the only one here. Removing this feature is not enough reason to join.
3.) You should still have some functionality in the news tab to be able to help your teammates and get updates on the team.
What functionality are you referring to and how are we able to help our teammates though it? What updates and who is going to give them?
A harmless game feature working well and appreciated by many should not have been removed. Please reconsider! I don't think it would be hard to enable this feature again.

Thank you for the tag @MollyS, I was looking for answers to this question myself.
As others have mentioned, I find this decision to be VERY bad. First we loose our ability to direct message team members on this forum and now you remove our ability to communicate with team members in the game? Like others, I don't care about "News". I don't need a notification that someone baked a piece of cake. I can see who baked or not in the actual cake itself by tapping on the "Top Chefs".
I've been on my team for quite some time now. Some members have been with us for some time and others are new. In fact, we got a new player just this week. Normally we welcome the member. However, this time we can't even do that. Feels so closed off now. We also used to communicate rules for the team which we can no longer do.
@LoFiGummy, you say to connect outside the game like here on the forum. As others have mentioned, not all players use this forum. Furthermore, not everyone uses the same name in the game as they do here. In the game, I'm connected via my FaceBook account so it shows my real name. I use an alias here. So how are my team members going to find me? We can't direct message anymore so that means we have to create a public post for everyone to see even outside the team. It will then get lost in the thousands of post by everyone else. So how are we to communicate with our team members if we can't even find each other here? Are we to create a new post everyday with our team name and pray others happen to stumble across it?
Luckily some of us have connected through FaceBook so we can communicate there. Basically what I am seeing here is that you want us to communicate outside the Kingdom now (or you want us to broadcast all of our business for everyone to see).
Of all the changes that have come across the game, I find this one to be the worse. So many things I could of done without in this game. This is NOT one of them.

Let me clarify something to you two.
The name of the Chat column is replaced by News, but this is not the function of News replaced the chat function. It was news+chat function before, now it has news function only. The chat function is removed. There has an option to decide whether activating the chat function or not in the team settings if you are playing a Soda version before 1.284. We are deprived of the rights to choose by the Studio.
We want the chat function back only. Please do not criticise the news function. You think it is useless because you don't know how to use it. If you have promoted to next level, control the baking data by yourself, you will know this is a critical function too. You need this news function not only when you are controlling the baking data, but also it can let you analysis a team easily when you move to a new team and then recall all messages of that team.
Removing the high score leaderboard of every level was a nightmare in 2024. This is the first nightmare in 2025.

My thoughts on losing our Chats in Soda is very sad indeed any time we as in the Community or even including our Community outside of this wonderful Community we have here and I have seen this great Community at it's best and trust me it was way better in the past few years ago and now it seems that whoever is in charge is trying to disassociate itself piece by piece maybe to change it so everything can be done by A.I. I truly dont know but only my opinion.
@LoFiGummy @MollyS We need to be able to communicate with our fellow players and teammates or the game itself becomes stale, uninteresting, even boring to the point that most people or players become ex-players I don't think that's best for anyone including Microsoft in fact that is bad for business if you ask me.
Not everyone wants to try and connect their game with their private and personal accounts that have nothing to do with their Games they play such as myself I don't want to have my Games and my Facebook page, or my X account, my Snapchat, etc. I should not have to change my accounts or the way I been playing and enjoying, having fun laughing and trying my strategy and sharing my game play with my Teammates in my game and my Teammates sharing theirs with me why are you trying to cause trouble why are you trying to break up our family why try and separate us and make so many orphans among us I thought we were all in this together like a family a Community a Community that was kind, helpful, friendly, that wanted everyone to feel like they belonged here you together.
I hope you understand my thoughts and feelings here how you showed me that I was able to become comfortable and relax and enjoy myself here and even share some of myself my private self with total strangers from all over the world who I didn't know at all who could have been any type of persons and I was very timid at first but this great Community allowed me to be myself and that lead to to do so in my Games too and that made me to want to play my Game more and more so much more that I was able to communicate with my Teammates and they helped me out with those really hard to beat levels that instead of deleting the game I listed to my Teammates and followed their help and passed that hard level so I continued to play more and more a lot more sometimes 12 to 16 hours a day day after day loving these Games but if you continue taking the only enjoyment I have left in these games that my Teammates can help me with I am not talking about some News Tab that's out completely I want my Teammates to help me I need my Teammates personal touch to make me feel better and helpful that heart to heart touch that no A.I. will never ever give to a man/woman in real life experience.

We are deprived of the rights to choose by the Studio.I appreciate that before there was a choice.
You are also right I don't understand the news function to the degree that you use it, I am afraid I am not very intelligent, I play for fun.
I would love to understand more of which you speak about. Please may I ask why when a player has been inactive it shows them as helper of the week?
