Hi everyone,
The studio wanted to address the recent change in the Teams section of Candy Crush Soda Saga, where the "Chat" feature has been replaced with a "News" tab. This change has understandably sparked feedback, and the studio appreciates everyone who has shared their thoughts and feedback with us here in the community.
The "Chat" feature, while valuable to some players, did not meet the standards the studio aims for in Soda. To ensure that the game continues to be enjoyable and accessible for everyone, the feature has been placed into maintenance for now. This means that the chat function will be unavailable while other aspects of Soda are being improved.
The studio also wanted to make it clear: this isn’t part of a broader effort to limit features or slow down the game. Improvements to the player experience is always being worked on, and over the past year, updates to improve player experience were introduces, including adding accessibility options in settings, and recently the studio has been testing the ability to customize the color of the backgrounds (on iOS to start with) to make the game board easier to see, as seen below:
For 2025, we have exciting plans that we can’t wait to share with you! While we can’t reveal all the details just yet, we’ll keep you updated both here in the community and in-game.

Thank you for the update @LoFiGummy . The chat is actually still alive in my Bake a Cake event… but maybe not for long 😅. And it doesn't make any différence for me as I can't use it, it does not work at all on my mobile app

what a poor excuse the STUDIO has given,taking the CHAT FEATURE that did not suit them,you are utterly heartless, unfeeling , lots of players of a certain age probably do not know what has happened,is the STUDIO going to explain to them they can no longer chat to the many friends they have made, sending them back into loneliness, GOOD FOR YOU , the chat feature is a lifeline to many,serves you right if everyone left

The "Chat" feature, while valuable to some players, did not meet the standards the studio aims for in Soda.Many different games in King should have their different characteristics. This diversity is a selling point. The chat function has been removed from some games in King, but Soda is no need to follow suit.
Even inside the Soda, there have different standards in every place. For example, the number will be smaller to suit the circle in some boosters and the number can keep its size to exceed the circle in some boosters.
Improvements to the player experience is always being worked on, and over the past year, updates to improve player experience were introduces,I know, but many improvements are not player-oriented. Many good features for players have been removed in 2024. For example, the high score leaderboard in every level, the display of the next slice number in the Bake a Cake, the display of which players are baking the next slice function in the Bake a Cake, the settings of Soda Cup has been changed and then many players have problems in playing multiple devices, etc.I hope the decision to remove the chat function in Soda can be shelved, like the smaller playing board incident in the 4th quarter of last year.

What! the studio is aiming for some standards??? so, chat doesn't meet some weird studio's standards. That explanation is almost as good as A/B testing 😂🤣

I do not know what kind of standards the Studio has in mind nor how that feature worked in your Royal game dear King. But in mine, it was appaling. I could hardly write a message as long as "Thank you so and so" 🙄 without the chat closing before I finished writing. And then impossible to enter the chat box till something unknown spurred it to open again and let me complete the message (or not 🤬). It never met the most basic standards of a chat in my view. But I guess this is an abnormal case since I read everywhere that players chat actively on it.

What are the standards that need to be met and how is the chat feature's inability to meet these impacting the "enjoyability" and accessibility for everyone? 🤔
If improvements are needed, what necessitated it to be removed?

1.) Shipmates is now limited to 4 days and in some players like me would disappear after the 2nd day.
2.) Episode race is now limited to weekends only.
3.) 4 in a Row is now limited to 2 tiles per player where it was unlimited before.
4.) Rocket Rush is now limited to playing new levels only.
5.) Rainbow Streaks is now limited to one uncompleted level to bring it back to the beginning.
6.) Rewards Pass, Kimmy's Arcade, Bake the Cake, Grow the Bear, Rescue Buddies, and New Events are now limited to some players.

Already we have players leaving the team…chat has been a wonderful way to communicate with each other. Playing solo is ok sometimes but sharing each other’s achievements and being able to encourage each other is much more preferable for me. I would love to know what standards have not been met…in my experience team members have been totally caring and supportive.

Boring so the studio decided against putting back chat, ang bringing back new stuff? Did you not here all of our comments we don't want new stuff we want the chat.i encourage you go back send talk with them. It's really fr a freaking boring this game. BTW like I said I play everyday 8000+ level,ready to uninstall
