lost today’s in progress cake baking due to automatic update

The same thing happened to me when my game was updated. Please do the following, which helped me:
If the events don't return after doing this, please close the app, force close all background apps, and restart your device. Open the Candy Crush Soda app and check if the events are visible again. If that still doesn't work, please replay a previously played level. After these steps, all the events returned for me, including the cake baking game.
