Yes, you click the team feature and at the bottom you click on chat. Hopefully you should see a button for asking for lives.

You can chat with your friends here in this community Only if you made 5 comments and get to level 2, and it seems you've already reached there. So now... Congrats, you can contact any friends you need just by touching that "chat button" and writing the persons' user name. Then you can send anyone you need a message for help or fun!~

Hmmm, last thing you can try is to see if you have the latest update for your game app. also there has been glitches in this game recently. so might have to wait until the studio fixes them. if you don't want or like to wait, then i recommend you to contact player support from you game app. i also see other players don't like their answer either.
side note...i have a few issues with this game myself too. 2 F...fun and frustration 😁 at the same time
