Unable to close Friend Requests

When friends pop up on the board and I can't earn any extra squares why don't they go away when I try to CLOSE their request. Or if I accept it sometimes it is days and days before they dissappear. Sometims the only time I can play a board is when other "friends" have helped complete a line.

Whenever you open 4 in a Row, do you keep seeing a request to accept a 'friend'?
And this you can't click away, so you can't view the board unless you've accepted the friend request? Perhaps you are playing in landscape mode? I'm also having the problem, but when I turn my iPad into portrait mode, I can click away the request.

I accept friend request but it still does not go away until there is a "4 in a row" on the playboard. Then it still stays when the board is not full.

Also I am on a regular computer not laptop.

This is probably something different because you’re not playing on mobile. Please try this: provided you saved your progress with a King account, log out of the game - clear the cache -> not data that will delete your boosters - power off your device for at least 1 minute - restart your device - check for game and device updates - log back into the game. Also make sure you have at least 2GB free memory storage to run the game smoothly and try to connect to a WiFi connection instead of using cellular data.
Clear cache in Android: go to settings - tap on apps - tap on candy crush soda - tap on storage - tap on clear cache (not data❗️)
Clear cache in iOS: go to settings - tap on Safari - tap on Clear history and website data
If that doesn’t work can you show me a screenshot of what you see and when exactly do you see this?
