I can log in and get to the map screen, but selecting a level results in an endless loading screen.

Have you done any troubleshooting yet? Follow the steps in the video if you haven't already done so.

Thanks! It was odd because other King games worked just fine.

No problem Dan! It's not effective every time but the general troubleshooting steps usually help with loading problems.

King's video on YouTube was no help at all for me. After using Firefox's Web Console to monitor what happens during Candy Crush Soda Saga's loading process, my brother and I (who are both web developers and know how to use these kinds of web tools) believe we have determined what the problem is.

During the part of the loading process which occurs once you select the level on the map, there are a number of resources on other servers (Cloudfront in particular), that are called up. One of these resources, https://soda1.midasplayer.com/resources/game_common.zip?_v=rwg3un, has frequently been failing to download. When this resource fails to download, the levels will not download either.

We have found that after clicking on the level on the map, after waiting on the "Play Level" screen for around ten minutes or so, a download failure message will eventually appear on the console next to the resource call. Once this message has been triggered on the console, pressing "Play" on that level will trigger the resource to be called again during the level loading process. This second call to the resource seems to work.

Since not everyone knows how to use a web console to monitor resource downloading progress, our suggestion is this: if your level fails to download, reload the game, select the level on the map, and then wait ten to fifteen minutes before pressing "Play."

Hey! Would you like to give us your opinion?
