What's with the bright purple flashes in Candy Crush Soda Saga?

I stopped playing regular candy crush because the new version was tiny, cheap-looking, and flashed too much. Tonight Soda Saga is flashing a clear fuchsia whenever I find a bear or clear a row. There were plenty of colors and flashes before. This new one is unsettling.
