New version of candy crush soda, I can't slide candies on my touch screen. tap tap only. why?

Since the most recent update, I can no longer slide candies together on my touchscreen...only tap one candy and then another to get them to move. Why can I no longer just slide my finger across two candies? (Nothing's changed in other games, only candy crush soda so it's got to be a programming issue with that particular game.)
