We don't know if the option to request lives from your teammates will return.
For now, if you have the latest Social Hub, you can request a life there. A player gave the tip, as soon as you lose 1 life (so you don't have 5 lives left) immediately request a new life. There is no limit on life requests. You can read player’s tip 👉 here
AD video is in a test group so we cannot say for sure that you will always find this feature. Sometimes the Game Studio switches the groups of players that can see advertisements. Also, in some cases, the video feature may be missing due to temporary issues. Make sure you have the latest updates for your game and device and hopefully ads will be back soon.

Sorry to hear you don’t like the updated Social Hub. You might want to consider expanding your friends list so that more players can respond to your request. When friends from the same country where you live (check their avatar in your friends list 😉) are online when you are also online you can receive help faster.
