Level 1
Hello @jgirl76 and welcome to Soda community!
Level pins reload every time friend pass a level so if your opponent and their friends live in the same timezone, your opponent and their friends can play Shipmates and Soda levels respectively, at the same time.
If I'm lucky in that sense I can also collect a dozen pins less than one hour. It's easy to pick friends with the same timezone, before selecting players for your crew, you can tap on their avatar picture and find out which country they're playing from and most importantly if they're not at the end of the map, so they have still many levels ahead to pass.
Plus if your opponent is quick to locate and totally sink your ships one after the other, the frequency you get pins from your friends progressively slows down because those friends with sunk ships can't help you anymore.
Thanks @Pitty_Kitty!
I didn't know about the advantage of picking friends in the same time zone in regards to Shipmate. We discussed about this in terms of requesting boosters before but not in Shipmates.
Maybe that's why I lost recently where I could have made a perfect pick. A day has passed and still didn't get a level pin. The next thing I know my opponent won. I didn't put the time zone in consideration. Now I know. I only needed at least one level pin.😥😪
I would like to know your strategy for picking the squares with ships on it your first try🤯 wow, 3 and 1/2 ships sunk with only 7 pins? You are extremely lucky, a psychic or know a secret.🤔🤭
Playing with someone who's playing at the same time makes it so much easier. I check to see if they are online playing at the same time as me by clicking on the avatar/account plaque. Good luck.
Hi @Kerrie
😄 I'm not a psychic or know a secret or extremely lucky. Perhaps a little luck? It's a guessing game. When I'm off, I'm really off. 😁I do observe certain patterns though and sometimes think of the probability. There are 25 tiles on the board and 8 of those are occupied by 4 ships, 2 tiles together. If you think about it, there are only 12 spaces that can be occupied by 4 ships. How many times can it be shuffled in different ways? Similar patterns usually occur more often than not.
I do check who is playing online but sometimes players go online probably not to play but just to check the Shipmates 😄or only play a little. Time zone could also play a part as mentioned by Pitty. Once you pick the players, they cannot be changed.
Thanks Kerrie! 🤗
