Okay I understand. I think that kind of link works only if you set up and back up your game via a FB account and not via a Community account. What is strange is that it works the other way round (at least it did for me)

Not necessarily. If the game's generated links were designed to go through Facebook (in general), then the sending aspect of it wouldn't pose any problems, but at the receiving end, will, because not everyone uses that platform.
I'm not sure if this is the case for all devices. I know PC users have been getting this problem for I don't know how long. There were discussions about this in the past. The Moderators and CMs are well aware of this.
