What has happened to Candy Crush Soda???!!!

What has happened to this once-brilliant game? Recently everything with the game has slowed down.
-Bonuses and boosters are rare and/or near-impossible.
-"Shipmates" now only gives one shot per level passed instead of three every once in a while.
-The levels for "Bake the Cake" are now so hard that it's near impossible to finish it, even with a big team effort, so there are almost no Supersonic Lollies.
-There seems to be no way to get gold bars besides paying for them.
-It is now MUCH harder to progress through the game, especially when boosters are not as available.
This are only a few examples. Why has all of this happened? Is Candy Crush Soda just trying to squeeze more money out of everyone? If so, they're only succeeding in squeezing all of the fun out of the game.

As for Shipmates, which version do you have? The classic one where your crew mates need to pass levels or the altered version where you need to pass levels on your own to have pins?

You summed it up perfectly. Thank you! I feel a level of frustration that the company would rather lose their loyal player base by making the game so difficult you can’t even level up anymore. Bake a cake for example is nearly impossible now I can’t even pass the first level and using numerous boosters. Our team used to buzz through the cake and now we fall short and can’t get the lollipop booster. This is just one example but the game has lost my interest because levels are impossible to pass and after 22 years of game play I’m done. greedy businesses that don value their loyal customer base.

I totally agree and it happened since the new owners took over….
I’m not enjoying the game anymore, and it doesn’t entice one to stay…..have not seen ‘bake a cake’ in ages, and hardly any bonuses given out.
It’s such a pity as I loved this game and it’s strategy etc….
