My Bake-A-Cake Event Went Missing! (Updated)

Edit, February 4th 2025:

Hello again, we have an update from the studio. The issue previously reported regarding Bake-A-Cake seems to have had several different parts which made it difficult to fix in a timely manner.

Right now, this problem has been fixed for some, and it will require more time from the studio to investigate and improve the situation.

As per usual, if you run into any problem in the game related to Bake-A-Cake, please follow these steps:

Updates: Check that you have the latest game and device updates.
Restart: Force close apps and restart your device.
Clear Cache:
- 🤖 Android: Settings > Apps > Candy Crush Soda > Storage > Clear Cache
- 🍏 iOS: Settings > Safari > Clear History and Website Data

In some cases, this will solve your problem if the Bake-A-Cake suddenly disappears shortly after you got it.

I can play “Bake a Cake, but my chat is gone! I connected with my team all the time, all of us supported each other and certainly it helped with the fun of completing the cake. We are from all over the states and have been playing with each other for quite some time. I miss my friends! We were a true TEAM and isn’t that what this is all about. Please bring back CHAT!!!!

@LoFiGummy still hasn't come back. I don't know if anyone else on my team has requested lives and got the grayed out thing. I can't chat with them to find out.

Understood, it could be an error that it happened when the feature was changed, let me know if it happens again or if it continues to be broken (or grayed out)!

So it's a glitch then because I never asked for lives. It just showed up and then the team members sent me lives. When I had opened the game and posted those print screens it was already grayed out and that's because the glitch showed that I asked for lives when I never did.

Hi again! To clarify, the Ask button sends a request to other team members asking them to send lives, as seen in your screenshot (this sent the message "Help! I need a life please."). Once a player has pressed the "Ask" button, it becomes greyed out for some time until one can ask for more lives again. This is to prevent players from spamming the button and asking for lives an unlimited amount of times.

So in short, you will be able to press it later again once the timer has run out.

@LoFiGummy please tell the Kingsters that they are the best studio among all the candy crush games! I just opened my game and I can now see the 'Teams' icon on the right. I still cannot do a chat. The ask button is still grayed out.

Regarding the new way of getting to Bake-A-Cake, while I understand that it might be confusing when one is used to how it was previously - this has been an intended change from the studio.

However, I see that there are some things that makes it a bit confusing like the text saying "go to activities" but Bake-A-Cake being on a cooldown.

Thank you for the thorough feedback, as it helps me to inform the studio about the players thoughts on these changes!

Well here are my print screens for this. This has been my go to game instead of the other 3 candy crush games but to open the game and see the images below is not making me happy at all.

This was on Windows 11, my desktop.

So it looks like I might be a tester but who knows? It's telling me to to to the "Activities' area to play.

So here is the activities. When I opened the game this morning it said "claim" the rewards. So I opened that and saw the cake and the rewards come in. The print screen above was just taken a few minutes ago so that's why it's not showing the claim anymore.

This print screen, just taken on my desktop, says that I asked my team for lives and 3 team members said they sent them to me. I never asked for lives! I can't even type to let them know that I never wrote that because the ask button is grayed out!

Why oh why do these studios always feel the need to move things and change things? Lucky that I saw the message to go to the activities area so that's a plus for the studio.

When I opened the game on my iPhone a while ago it's still the old way of opening it. Unfortunately, the "News" button is grayed out so I can't even type my team telling them that I never asked for lives. It does show on my phone that I asked and they sent them to me.

Please Kingsters, I really love playing your game but if I'm a tester, then please make sure that the testing stops for me. If it's a glitch because you decided to move it to the activities then I ask Why?

I know that @LoFiGummy is now gone and won't be returning until Monday so I'll bring in my daily reward and check if I can continue to play the cake. Guess it will be a quiet game weekend for me.

According to the official announcement:

"The Bake a Cake is a feature in Soda that's not available for all players at all times. Sometimes the bakery will be closed to make room for other features,i.e. Bake a Cake go missing means that the feature is not currently available, this can be either due to it taking a break in your game or that your team has already finished baking the cake.

We understand this might feel a little bit like your teammate got an extra slice of cake while you're waiting for your turn, but at the moment, that's how it works."

This incident has happened to many players over one year. You will get used to this later.

Hey there, we added some information in the start of this thread now! It seems like some players lost their Bake-A-Cake event as it was active yesterday - we're currently looking into it.

As for the question regarding not having enough events when players are at the end of the levels, the studio is also aware of this - and hopefully we'll see some improvements to this scenario this year as the team does have big plans for Soda. 🤗

If you have the Pink Door at the end of the levels, you should be able to participate in more and more events as well - as you get to play a random level to help you earn rewards!

AAww. I only have 5 levels left so I guess I'm booted from everything. Time to find a new game. Crazy. Not very good customer service. Eventually I guess everyone will be gone.

It’s since you have to start “bake a cake” via activities. You can’t play as much as you want anymore; they put a time slot on it. So if you finished all the regulier levels (like me) you can’t play anymore. It’s a big decline of the game.

They usually show up for me on Thursdays, didn't get one today. I suppose I go booted from that too.

Een verandering die denk ik heel bewust is doorgevoerd. Je kan sinds taart bakken via “activiteiten” opgestart moet worden nog maar 1 x per zoveel uur aan een nieuwe taart starten. Zware achteruitgang! Als je alle reguliere levels af hebt zoals ik, valt er dus niets meer te spelen.

Ads are freezing and having to close app each time
