I had that problem from 2020 to 2024. Back in the day, I didn't had account. Maybe it's because of account? Those with account get Olivia and events immediately, while the others have to pass the level?

Wait a minute... remember 2020 and big redesign? That's how it looked during that redesign. It doesn't matter if you passed the level or you just entered the game, you would get the same thing. And before and after Soda Crush, old Kimmy appeared. Maybe they will redesign her again, considering that in the new Candy Crush Solitaire the characters are different.

To clarify some things 👀
Earlier when Kimmy was noted to go for other adventures, we're not sure what she's up to, but since then Kimmy is not as featured in places like the dioramas (the main screen).
The diorama can look different depending on what test group one is in, currently the one for this Season features the bear and Olivia, for some it's the brighter one that you have.
Some may still see Kimmy in some places more as a cameo, but looking forward we may see a bit more of the bears or the other characters in Soda!

That being said though, it's great to see that we have Kimmy fans here in the community! But you never know what will happen in the future, if we get returning or altered characters, or maybe new ones? 👀
Only time will tell 🤗 But if things do happen or change, I'll be sure to share it with the players as soon as I can!

I've seen many different opening screens over the years I've played both with and without Kimmy, so I think that will just repeat and she'll appear again in future start screens.
