I don't think there is a way to make the game work without trying to Uninstall then reinstall. Your progress should save if you are connected with your King account and all you would have to do is log back in. I have no other help because it seems like you tried quite a bit. You won't lose your progress if you are using your King account. Just make sure (if you reinstall) to reconnect back in with your King account and your progress should save. I often don't use wifi when I play the games because it causes more lag.
