Didn't let me use gold bars but took money?

i was playing farm heroes the other day and spent $2 to buy 10 gold bars, before I could use them, the game crashed. When I opened the app again, I no longer had the gold bars. I checked my iTunes balence and it had taken the $2 off. So now I have no gold bars and no money. When I contacted customer care all they sent me was an automated email. When will I get my refund?
