Why can't I use all my lives than just one?

When i play farm heroes saga and when i use one of my five lives, the rest it don't allowe me to use them. I need to restart the game and than to go on with the next one. 

Help an thanks in advance?

Can you explain what happens, I mean does the game kick you out? When you fail a level, what happens then, does the game freeze or something?
