I've been playing Farm Heroes Saga for more than a year; am at level 205.  I have never been given gold bars nor have I been able to earn them.  Why?

That's the way the game is set up, gold bars generally don't get given out but instead you can get magic beans, boosters and unlimited lives for X amount of hours by completing promotions and challenges that regularly come up.
