Glitch or new feature with seeds on devices?

I have had several people reporting that on devices, instead of activating a seed by water drop, such as the hay or grass seed, hitting it with a shovel is making it grow. Its NOT happening on computers though.

Is this a glitch or a new testing feature? If it is the latter, players are loving it.

    Turned out it was a correction to a faulty seed haha. I forgot I asked this all that time ago. Smashing a seed with a shovel will make it grow :)
