How to use boosters on farm heroes

I don't know how to use the boosters at the bottom of the game & I've tried reaching anything I could to try & figure it out.. Also, why do they want me to pay $5.99 to break my piggy bank & how do you use the silver coins & what good is all those stupid beans for??  Please help me before I lose my mind! Lol
