I have not been receiving events on my mobile device for about two months now, please advise.

Hi @sisternic and welcome to our adorable Community 😊 All in-game events are meant to be released only for a certain amount of players. If you are not seeing certain events you might have other events that are not available to others. You can read more about this on the link below in the post written by our Community Manager. I would like to add a little bit to what my friend @firebombmarkus informed
Can you please tell us what mobile device you are using? Is your device and the game are all good with the updates? If it is up to date, you can try to re-install the game App! That is what I did on my Android device couple of weeks ago, and I got few events back on it (not all)!!
If you do not have any stored up boosters in your game, you can go ahead and delete the App, clear the cache and shut down the device for few minutes. Then restart it and install the App again -- most probably you will see another update too (that's what happened to me). With this re-installation and the update, you should be able to see some events if you are one of the selected players as @firebombmarkus mentioned above
NOTE: Please remember that you will be loosing any and all the saved up boosters and lives with the Re-installation. All the Gold bars and the Magic Beans will stay intact, but it is always safe to take a screenshot
