I've passed all of these levels and have 2 stars at level 1791 but it won't let me proceed to the next stage. Is there a bug here? Or what do I need to do to continue please? TIA

Are you playing via a mobile device? Have you checked for updates in the app store?
If so, could you add a screen shot here so I can see if I can see anything obvious and let me know which device/version/OS you are playing on please. As far as I know there are no bugs so it might just be something simple like an update 0 -
